*Rings alarm* helloooooo loves, I know you’re all waiting with bated breath to see which eligible bachelor from our match-making list last week will be set up with the lovely Shauna Chin – a Jamaican Hollywood actress and diaspora ambassador. So today Sour Skittles is happy to announce the unanimously selected winner… who will be tracked down and nicely encouraged to go on a date with Ms Chin (if she doesn’t kill me first, i.e.). And the winner is … *insert noisy marching band* … Usain St Leo Bolt! Ugh, must he always win? Ah well, I must confess that after revisiting the list, and her criteria, he does seem like the perfect pick for her. One reader even pointed out that their photos were looking towards each other… Awww, kudos to you for noticing my friend!

So here’s why things could work out pretty well between Shauna and Usain, (based on her own words):
“I don’t know if I can be tamed right now. [Laughs] Single doesn’t mean I’m lonely, plus I’m pretty moody, especially when it’s time to work. I imagine it would have to be a guy who completes me so much that I would have no choice but to pay attention. Someone who is funny, and enjoys laughing and spending time with friends and family as much as I do, but understands when it’s time to get serious and grind hard at work… someone who can party to dancehall one night, and then fly out the next day with me to go address the leader of a nation.”
1. Funny and enjoys laughing: Ding ding ding! Usain is known for being very jovial and a prankster, with a great sense of humour.
2. Loves spending time with friends and family: Usain is our man again. He has a very close relationship with his family, friends and management team.
3.Understands when it’s time to get serious: Hello?! He just buckled down, weaned himself from the girls and partying to get back in shape for the Olympics and AGAIN win gold medals. Of course he knows when it’s work time!
4. Can party one night, then fly out the next day to address the leader of a nation: This is where the sprint king raced ahead (no pun intended). He’s known to party hard, but being an ambassador himself, he also cleans up quite well for Jamaica House … and he’s friends with Prince Harry? WIN!!!! Usain is definitely our man! *Ahem, cough* HER man.
We caught up with the actress who is currently in West Africa on business, and here’s what she has to say about it:
Sour Skittles: We think, you drummed up this impossible man in your head just to be elusive, but we put Jamaica on the case.
Shauna: [laughs] yes, I read your article. [laughs]
Sour Skittles: So what did you think about the list?
Shauna: I hate to burst your bubble, but I really don’t know any of the guys on that list like that. Even Adam, it’s all work with us on set. Although I can’t believe Damian Marley was number 5! You should’ve definitely bumped him up on the list!… I mean, while we’re playing along and all. [laughs]
Sour Skittles: Is that who you want to win?
Shauna: I don’t want any of them to win! [laughs] I was just saying.
Sour Skittles: So you don’t want to know the results then?
Shauna: [laughs] Well… if you’re going to post it anyway then yes, I want to know. I’m actually here in Africa with Floyd Green and Oraine Barrett, so it would be pretty funny if it’s one of them. As an ambassador, I was allowed to bring guests and I invited them both because I work with Floyd on diaspora issues and Oraine I’m trying to work with for my Breast Cancer campaign coming up. So it should be pretty interesting if it’s one of them.
Sour Skittles: Sorry to disappoint you but it’s neither. It’s actually Usain Bolt.
Shauna: [laughs] [screams]
Sour Skittles: Oh? So that’s a good thing then? Perfect, it seems you’re already smitten.
Shauna: [laughs] I don’t know. I don’t even know the man! But he seems great.
Sour Skittles: Well, that’s who Jamaica feels you should date. And based on that shriek you let out earlier, it seems you’re in agreement, hmmm. Are you expecting sparks to fly?
Shauna: Hmmm, I don’t know. I’ll have to think about it. It doesn’t just work like that you know? You don’t just walk up to a person and say “Hey, Jamaica thinks we should date!” I bet that would be a bit awkward. [laughs]
Sour Skittles: Actually, it could be the perfect ice-breaker, and he’s a man with a sense of humour so, you never know. How about we have his people call your people Shauna?
Shauna: Are you serious? [laughs] Well, I guess we’ll see.
