MoBay-born actress to appear on Criminal Minds
Jamaican actress, writer and film director Shauna Chin is schedule to make an appearance, tonight at 9 pm, in the widely popular CBS police drama Criminal Minds – season 10, episode 14: Hero Worship. She will, for a brief time, play a doctor in the series which boasts fan-favourite Shemar Moore on their roster.
Below is a brief synopsis of the episode: When a coffee shop in Indianapolis explodes in a bombing and the only survivor who emerges from the wreckage is hailed as a hero, the BAU (FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit) puts him and his family into protective custody. Meanwhile, the team eventually deduces that there will be more bombings and must work against the clock to find the person or persons responsible and their driving motive to prevent more casualties.
Chin, who was born in Montego Bay, began acting with a recurring role in popular local drama ‘The Blackburns of Royal Palm Estate’. She has also starred as ER Nurse One in the award-winning Cannes Film Festival short, ‘Choices’. Chin’s résumé includes Goodwill Ambassador to the National Association of Jamaican And Supportive Organizations (NAJASO) as well as Director of Protocol for the Office of the Jamaican Consulate – Los Angeles.
According to IMDb, Chin received an honorable discharge as a veteran from the United States Army and is a board-certified Registered Nurse in California, holding two bachelor’s degrees – Nursing and Health Administration.
